Director of Community Engagement

Job Summary:
The Director of Community Engagement plays a pivotal role in telling the CCO story to the communities we serve. This position will be responsible for building strong relationships, fostering collaboration, and driving meaningful impact.
Primary Objective:
Increase awareness, visibility, and revenue of the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Community Relationship Building:
- Build and maintain relationships with community stakeholders, volunteers, and partners to enhance the organization's visibility and support base.?
- Identify opportunities for collaboration and partnership to enhance community engagement.
- Collaboration:?
- Collaborate with other departments, such as program teams, to ensure alignment of fundraising efforts with organizational priorities.?
- Represent the organization at events, conferences, and other networking opportunities to enhance its visibility and donor relationships.?
- Collaborate with the Director of Communication to ensure consistent messaging and branding across all annual giving materials and event collateral.
- Fundraising Strategy:?
- Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies to meet organizational goals.?
- Identify new funding opportunities and partnerships to diversify revenue streams.?
- Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in fundraising to ensure the organization remains innovative and competitive.?
- Donor Relations:?
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing donors, ensuring their continued engagement and support.?
- Identify and engage potential major donors, foundations, and corporate partners.?
- Oversee the creation of compelling materials and presentations to effectively communicate the organization's mission and impact.?
- Team Leadership:?
- Build, lead, and inspire a high-performing development team.?
- Provide guidance and support to team members, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented culture.?
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and professional development opportunities for team members.?
- Campaign Management:?
- Lead and coordinate fundraising campaigns, including annual giving, major gifts, and capital campaigns.?
- Develop and execute strategic plans for each campaign, setting ambitious but achievable fundraising targets.?
- Monitor and evaluate campaign progress, adjusting strategies as needed to ensure success.?
- Event Coordination and Outreach:
- Oversee planning, coordination, and execution of fundraising events, including galas, auctions, donor receptions, and virtual events.?
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless event coordination, from venue selection to vendor management.?
- Oversee Speaker’s Bureau
- Advocacy and Representation:
- Serve as an advocate for community needs within the organization.
- Represent our organization at community meetings, public forums, and relevant events.
- Budget Management:
Develop and manage budgets for annual giving initiatives and fundraising events, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.?
Qualifications:
Comprehensive management skills and experience are required including but not limited to short and long-term planning, evaluation, directing and motivating staff, oral and written communication skills, marketing and financial management, and organizational behavior and development.
The individual is also expected to have demonstrated experience and confidence in asking people to contribute time and money.
Familiarity with computer systems is necessary.
The amount of knowledge required would typically be acquired in a bachelor's degree and a minimum of 1 year fundraising or sales experience in a professional position.
