Position Overview:
The Accounting Associate will play a critical role in our daily financial operations, working under the direction of the Corporate Controller. This position offers a variety of responsibilities, including payroll processing, accounts payable and receivable, administrative tasks, and special projects. We are seeking a proactive and adaptable individual eager to learn and grow within our company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process weekly payroll for approximately 35 employees, ensuring compliance with union reporting requirements.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoice processing, vendor communication, and reconciliations.
- Accurately enter, edit, and post data into accounting software.
- Maintain organized electronic and hard copy filing systems for billing and financial records.
- Perform basic reconciliations and support financial reporting under the guidance of the Corporate Controller.
- Assist with administrative duties such as filing, scanning, faxing, and mail handling.
- Coordinate with field crews and operational personnel to address and resolve issues.
- Answer incoming calls and provide administrative support as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the company’s accounting and administrative functions.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a professional office environment.
- Experience with payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Adobe.
- Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and prioritize workload.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to work.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
- Dependable, reliable, and self-motivated.
- Willingness to take on various responsibilities and assist where needed.
