Location: 4535 E Princess Anne Rd, Norfolk, VA 23502
Compensation: up to $31/hour
Schedule: Monday - Thursday (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday OFF!)
- 4:00 PM - 10:30 PM OR 12:00 PM - 10:30 PM
Responsibilities
- Deliver automotive technology instruction in classroom and lab settings.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and productive learning environment.
- Monitor student attendance, academic progress, and performance; maintain accurate records and submit required reports.
- Support curriculum development, course preparation, equipment maintenance, and student retention initiatives.
- Communicate student concerns, attendance issues, and other matters requiring attention to the Program Coordinator.
- Participate in required training, professional development, and instructor development activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned by school leadership.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum three (3) years of practical automotive industry experience.
Certifications
- ASE Certification equal to the level of classes taught (preferred).
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of automotive systems, diagnostics, repair procedures, and industry safety standards.
- Strong communication, organizational, and recordkeeping skills.
- Proficiency with computers and instructional technology.
- Professional demeanor with strong attention to detail and commitment to student success.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and teach both day and evening classes.
- Commitment to completing at least 20 hours of annual technical update training.
- No prior teaching experience required. We provide a 5-day paid instructor training program to help you successfully transition into the classroom.
