As the Associate Milling Specialist, you will support the production of high-end custom millwork cabinetry within our Milling Department. This role is responsible for assisting with a variety of manufacturing processes, including milling, machining, drawer box production, cabinet assembly other departmental operations as business needs require.
Working alongside experienced craftsmen, you will learn the equipment, processes quality standards that define Cottonwood craftsmanship while developing the technical skills necessary to contribute across multiple functions within the Milling Department. This position is ideal for someone with mechanical aptitude, a strong work ethic a desire to build a career in custom manufacturing.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate CNC milling equipment to produce custom wood components according to project specifications, shop drawings production schedules.
- Assist with manufacturing operations throughout the Milling Department, including milling, drawer box production, cabinet assembly other production functions as assigned.
- Read and interpret shop drawings, cut lists work orders to ensure accurate production.
- Select, prepare stage raw materials while maximizing material efficiency minimizing waste.
- Inspect finished components to ensure they meet Cottonwood's standards for quality, precision craftsmanship.
- Perform routine machine cleaning, preventative maintenance basic equipment inspections to support efficient operations.
- Maintain clean, organized safe work areas while following all Company safety policies procedures.
- Collaborate with team members throughout the Milling Department to ensure projects move efficiently through production.
- Cross-train on multiple machines, equipment manufacturing processes to support departmental flexibility continued professional development.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental operations.
REQUIREMENTS
- Previous experience in woodworking, cabinetry, millwork or a manufacturing environment is preferred, but not required. On-the-job training will be provided.
- Ability to read or learn to interpret shop drawings, blueprints production documents.
- Basic knowledge of CNC machinery or woodworking equipment is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to safely learn and operate manufacturing equipment.
- Ability to lift heavy materials, stand for extended periods perform repetitive physical tasks.
