Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Director of Nursing role located in Westminster CO. The Director of Nursing will oversee all nursing services, ensuring high standards of clinical care, regulatory compliance, and resident safety in a skilled nursing and long-term care setting. Day-to-day responsibilities include supervising and mentoring nursing staff, coordinating staffing and scheduling, and monitoring clinical outcomes and quality indicators. The role also involves developing and implementing nursing policies and procedures, leading infection control initiatives, and collaborating with physicians, interdisciplinary team members, residents, and families. The Director of Nursing will participate in care planning, manage audits and surveys, provide staff education, and support a positive, accountable work culture aligned with the organization’s values.
Qualifications
- Strong leadership abilities in Nursing Management, including staff supervision, team development, and operational oversight.
- Clinical expertise in Nursing and Medicine, with the ability to support evidence-based practice and complex resident care needs.
- Knowledge and experience in Long-term Care, including care planning, regulatory requirements, and resident-centered practices.
- Proficiency in Infection Control, including prevention strategies, surveillance, and staff training.
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Utah (or eligibility to obtain prior to start date).
- Several years of progressive nursing leadership experience in skilled nursing or long-term care settings.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse staff, residents, and families.
- Solid understanding of state and federal regulations, survey processes, and quality improvement methodologies.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain accurate documentation, and use electronic health records and basic office software.
- BSN preferred; advanced certifications in gerontology, leadership, or related specialties are a plus.
