Summary:
This position is responsible for initiating, managing, and executing trade-focused marketing projects and programs to support the overall objectives of the Marketing division of Cotton Incorporated. Primary duties include but are not limited to: developing and executing effective marketing programs, campaigns, and go-to-market initiatives to influence the use of cotton in textile markets; generating creative, innovative ideas while collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement integrated marketing campaigns; translating technical, product, and market information into compelling marketing tools and industry resources; management and execution of marketing events and programs, and representing Cotton Incorporated at industry events. The position will work internally and externally with textile companies, industry partners and supporting vendors to accomplish assigned goals.
Core Functions:
· Initiate, manage, and execute strategic marketing projects and programs that support division goals and promote the use of cotton across textile, apparel, and home markets
· Develop and implement integrated marketing initiatives, product launches, and promotional programs targeting brands, retailers, manufacturers, and other industry stakeholders
· Translate technical textile, product, and market information into clear, compelling marketing tools, educational resources, and customer-facing content
· Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams, researchers, technical experts, and external partners to develop coordinated marketing campaigns and industry programs
· Support the strategic coordination and execution of domestic and international trade shows, conferences, customer events, and industry engagement activities in collaboration with internal teams and external partners
· Research and identify emerging industry trends, technologies, and market opportunities to support new marketing concepts, messaging, and strategic initiatives
· Plan, coordinate, and execute trade shows, conferences, customer events, product showcases, tours, and other industry engagement activities globally
· Manage relationships with external agencies, consultants, suppliers, and vendors to support project execution and marketing objectives
· Represent Cotton Incorporated at industry meetings, events, workshops, and conferences through presentations, networking, and stakeholder engagement
· Participate in public speaking opportunities and industry education initiatives to communicate Cotton Incorporated programs, technologies, and market insights to diverse audiences
Job Requirements:
· B.A. or B.S. in marketing, textiles, apparel management, or a related field
· Minimum 5 years’ relevant professional experience, apparel and textiles preferred
· Experience with brand and creative product marketing, event marketing, and project management
· Experience with public speaking to a wide variety of audiences and diverse levels (e.g., manager to corporate executive-level)
· Experience with vendor management
· Ability to think creatively about marketing challenges and develop and execute project solutions
· Ability to work simultaneously on a diverse array of assignments and manage multiple projects
· Ability to speak publicly to a wide variety of audiences
· Ability to work with outside vendors to enhance marketing efforts
· Demonstrated aptitude to work with technical content and subjects
· Strong work ethic combined with self-motivation and personal initiative
· Ability to work well within a team
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office™ Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
· Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, a plus
· This position may require domestic and international travel up to 20% of the time
Working Conditions / Physical Demands:
· General office environment with quiet to moderate noise level
· Varied working conditions off-site due to travel
· Business casual dress clothes required
· Regularly required to sit and use hands to type and grasp, with frequent standing, walking, and bending/twisting at the neck/waist
