Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation including chopping, mixing, and assembling ingredients according to recipes and standards
- Operate kitchen equipment such as grills, ovens, poaching stations, braising pans, and food production machinery safely and efficiently
- Follow food safety sanitizing procedures to ensure a clean and hygienic kitchen environment
- Support menu planning efforts by preparing ingredients for various dishes and ensuring consistency in presentation
- Handle food with care, adhering to proper food handling techniques and safety guidelines
- Maintain high-volume production standards while adhering to recipe specifications and portion control
- Contribute to the overall cleanliness of the kitchen by cleaning workstations, utensils, and equipment regularly
- Assist with catering events or special meal preparations as needed, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork
Qualifications
- Prior experience in dietary aide roles or dietary department environments is highly desirable
- Proven food service experience in restaurant or catering settings with a focus on food handling and safety
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques including grilling, braising, poaching, and meal assembly
- Familiarity with operating various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
