What are the responsibilities and job description for the OR Circulating - Registered Nurse PER DIEM position at Cottage Hospital?
Cottage Hospital is seeking an experienced OR Circulating Nurse (RN) to join our Surgical Services team. This role supports patient care across the full perioperative continuum, including pre-op, operating room, and recovery.
In this position, you will collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and clinical staff to ensure safe and efficient surgical care. Responsibilities include preparing operating rooms, verifying equipment and sterility, assisting with patient positioning and procedure setup, and maintaining compliance with infection control and safety standards. You will also support patient monitoring during procedures and be ready to respond to any changes in patient condition.
Additional responsibilities include conducting preoperative assessments, supporting anesthesia induction, and providing patient and family education throughout the surgical process. You may also assist in post-anesthesia care and same day surgery functions, including recovery monitoring, documentation, discharge planning, and follow-up instructions.
This role requires strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment. Experience in general, laparoscopic, or orthopedic procedures is preferred.
