Job Description
Immediately supervised by a pharmacist, furnishes pharmaceutical services to all members of the health care team and to the patient. Assigned duties and responsibilities are consistent with the individual's training and experience and consistent with law. The supervising pharmacist will be fully aware of all the Intern's activities involved in the preparation and dispensing of medications, including the maintenance of appropriate records.

- Processes medication orders. (5%)
- Monitors patient medication profile records for hypersensitivities, allergies, idiosyncrasies, and incompatibilities. (5%)
- Accurately prepares and dispenses medications and IV solutions. (5%)
- Evaluates drug and supplies to be procured and selection of supplier. (5%)
- Participates in department projects as assigned. (5%)
- Assists in the collection, compilation, and interpretation of adverse drug reactions. (5%)
- Performs unit inspections. (5%)

- Student currently enrolled in an ACPE accredited college of pharmacy.

- Current pharmacy intern licensure

- Ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's needs (i.e. age, medical conditions, allergies) and to provide the care needed as described in the department policies and procedures.

- Pay for non-physician positions is determined based on related years of experience and internal equity. Eligible employees may also receive additional forms of compensation, including shift differentials, on-call pay, incentive pay, and bonus opportunities, where applicable. Manager and above positions may participate in Cottage Health’s annual management incentive program. Physician compensation is determined based upon specialty and may include bonus potential.
