Provides education on current and updated regulatory compliance, assists with orienting and training new hires, provides clinical consultation to licensed clinical social workers and medical social workers. In addition, responsible for leading and/or participating in various tasks forces and committees related to women's and children's social work. Provides the social work manager with assistance on matters related to women and children medical social work team for Cottage Health. The Lead Licensed Clinical Social Worker's activities will result in quality outcomes, optimal care/cost management of services, a high level of customer satisfaction and contribution to an overall value-oriented experience of stakeholders and persons served.

- Departmental Leadership. -Acts as a leadership resource for the team to support, foster, and assure the continued professional development of group/individual skill sets and competencies. Provides clinical consultation and guidance.-Provides people management assistance, working under the direction of the Social Work Manager.-Provides input and editorial assistance to departmental policies and procedures, assuring they remain current and relevant, as well as staff/organizational adherence. -Ensures the provision and accessibility of women and children medical social work services across Cottage Health.-Works with the Medical Social Work Manager on budget, department goals and general oversight of department workflow.-Oversees the clinical operations of patient care in the women and children service areas. (70%)
- Advocacy -Provides advocacy and support - internal and external to the organization ? for public policy relevant to Cottage Health. -Acts as liaison and resource as appropriate between Cottage Health and community agencies/entities. (20%)
- This position includes providing consultation working alongside licensed clinical social workers and medical social workers to provide consultation on patient care. The lead may be consulted by the social work team or the treatment team in order to manage patient care needs on complex care patients.-Assures patient care is consistently provided in accordance with organizationally/system-wide accepted standards of care, practice and policy. (10%)

LEVEL OF EDUCATION

- Master's of Social Work Degree from an accredited School of Social Work
Minimum:
- California Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) is required as evidence of ability to function as an independent, self regulated professional practitioner of clinical social work. California Children's Services (CCS) paneling is required.
Minimum:
- Basic Internet and Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook skills. Comfortable working with smart phones and computers.

- Working knowledge of regulations, standards and guidelines governing and/or related to the provision of medical social work services in women and children acute and post-acute settings.
