Business Development Representative – Pool & Construction Products
Location & Work Model: Brookings, SD (Hybrid work arrangement available)
Schedule: Full-time Monday–Friday during standard business hours

Salary Range: $70,000–$100,000 annually

The Role
The Business Development Representative is responsible for expanding market presence by building relationships with pool builders, contractors, distributors, and industry partners. This role focuses on growing sales of metal drains, pool forms, and related products while identifying opportunities across the broader product portfolio. The position manages the full sales cycle and serves as a trusted resource for customers throughout the buying process.
What You'll Do
- Develop and maintain relationships with pool builders, contractors, distributors, and commercial customers
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the pool, construction, and related markets
- Promote and sell metal drains, pool forms, and other manufactured products
- Manage the sales process from prospecting and quoting through closing and ongoing customer support
- Conduct product demonstrations and educate customers on product applications and benefits
- Attend trade shows, industry events, and customer meetings to build awareness and generate new opportunities
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure customer expectations are met and projects move smoothly
- Monitor market trends, customer feedback, and competitive activity to help guide business growth
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in outside sales, business development, account management, or a related sales role
- Proven ability to generate new business and build long-term customer relationships
- Track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals
- Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently and manage a sales territory effectively
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Comfort discussing technical products and their applications with customers
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel regularly
- High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the swimming pool, construction, manufacturing, or building materials industries
- Existing relationships with pool builders, contractors, distributors, or related industry contacts
- Experience selling technical, industrial, or construction-related products
- Associate's or bachelor's degree
- Experience using CRM systems to manage customer relationships and sales activity
