Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Assistant Project Manager to support day-to-day operations within our general contracting business. The ideal candidate will assist in coordinating construction projects, managing administrative tasks, supporting field staff, and ensuring timelines and budgets are met. This role requires strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a solid understanding of the construction industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects from start to finish.
- Support project managers with scheduling, budgeting, subcontractor coordination, and documentation.
- Track project progress and report on timelines, costs, and materials.
- Help manage permit applications, inspections, and regulatory compliance.
- Liaise with clients, vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project operations.
- Maintain accurate project files, contracts, change orders, and RFIs.
- Assist in procurement of materials and verify delivery schedules.
- Perform job site visits to monitor progress and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Support human resources functions such as onboarding, scheduling, and timesheet management.
- Help maintain compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and local building codes.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- 2 years of experience in construction or general contracting (or equivalent administrative/project support role).
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, documentation, and terminology.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with construction software (e.g., Procore, Ebuilder, or similar) is a plus.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with OSHA and other safety regulations is a plus.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to job sites as needed.
Working Conditions:

- May require travel between project locations.
- Occasional extended hours depending on project demands.
