Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Pharmacist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications for our patients. This position requires a strong understanding of pharmacology, patient care, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team. Dispenses/verifies prescription medications in a high volume central fill pharmacy.
Duties
- Verifies accuracy of mail order and retail (warehouse) requested prescription products
- Verifies bulk prescription products by reviewing contents, labeling, quantity, customer name, and order information against computer readout.
- Provides supervision and assistance to ancillary staff as needed
- Counts, or ensures accurate count, of all controlled substance orders
- Handles or oversees handling of Schedule 2 controlled medication through packing and shipping phase.
- If anomalies are noted, communicates with Retail/ Mail Order store pharmacy staff via written correspondence, email, phone or fax to ensure prescriptions are processed accurately and within proper procedures.
- Complies with DEA, state and federal regulations. Meets proper department production, record keeping, and product storage procedures and standards. Maintains confidential computer/patient records.
Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills and qualifications:
- Education/Training: Bachelor of Science or Doctorate of Pharmacy required.
- Licenses/Certifications: Indiana licensed pharmacist in good standing
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail
