Position Summary

Answers members’ questions about wine, spirits and beer products. Stocks and straightens merchandise for sale in the warehouse. Maintains neat and orderly department.

Job Duties/Essential Functions

• Provides prompt and courteous member service. Directs members to products, relates product status knowledge. Assists members with advice on food and wine pairings for small and large scale events.

• Follows merchandising standards and practices. Aligns product, collects and returns stray items, stocks to maintain high product levels. Helps members to load large items into their cart.

• Stocks opened cases on shelves. Moves and positions pallets of merchandise using manual pallet jack. Stacks products form partial pallets onto full pallets. Observes and ensures correct product signage.

• Uses box knife to cut boxes for display/accessibility of product.
• Sets up display tables for vendors.
• Pulls loose cardboard and slip-sheets from floor. Clears sales floor of debris and sweeps. Operates cardboard baler and trash compactor.

• Ensures proper cleanup and disposal of hazardous materials.
• Regular and reliable workplace attendance at your assigned location.

Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery

• Manual pallet jack, trash compactor, cardboard bailer, screwdriver, box knife, computer, printer.

Non-Essential Functions

• Assists with front end duties as necessary.
• Assists in other departments of the warehouse as necessary.

• Cash register, tabletop/hand-held scanner, flatbed cart, shopping cart, RF gun, computer, printer.

Experience, Skills, Education & Licenses/Certifications
Required:

• Hazard Communication and JHA (initial assignment), Costco Hazardous Materials DOT Training Course: Part 1 (within 30 days and then every year), Hazmat Universal Waste Training- Short Version (within 30 days and then every year), Option

STOP Training (within 30 days), Level 1 Food Safety Certification (within 30 days), Food Handler's Permit (prior to working in a foods area and only where required by state or local jurisdiction).

• Must be current on annual safety training within 30 days of hire.
• Must be 21 years old

Recommended:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Customer service skills preferred.
• Wine, Spirits and Beer product knowledge.
