Clothing Stocker

Position Summary
Stocks and straightens merchandise for sale in the warehouse. Clears and cleans aisles, assists members.

Job Duties/Essential Functions

• Spots for Forklift Drivers to keep people out of fall-danger zone. Follows all safety and security procedures, such as lifting properly, correct compactor operation.

• Follows merchandising standards and practices: aligns product, collects and returns stray items, stocks to maintain high product levels.

• Communicates with supervisors and managers to determine merchandising plan and priorities. Writes list of products to be brought from steel, by forklift driver, for stocking.

• Uses box knife to cut boxes for display/accessibility of product and to cut twine or shrink-wrap from pallet. Wraps or ties and tags pallets to be returned to steel.

• Stocks opened cases on shelves. Moves and positions pallets of merchandise using manual pallet jack. Stacks product from partial pallets onto full pallets.

• Sets up display models, assembling as necessary. Modifies displays for safe handing by members, e.g., bolting heavy equipment, taping blade edges.

• Pulls loose cardboard and slip-sheets from floor. Clears sales floor of debris and sweeps. Removes empty pallets from the sales floor. Operates cardboard baler and trash compactor.

• Provides prompt and courteous member service. Helps members to load large items into their cart, directs members to products, relates product status knowledge.

• Ensures proper cleanup and disposal of hazardous materials.
• Regular and reliable workplace attendance at your assigned location.

Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery

• Manual pallet jack, RTV rack, scanner, wheeled bin, trash compactor, cardboard baler, Broom, sticker marking gun, shrink wrap machine, wrench, screwdriver, pliers, box knife, MIMO.

Non-Essential Functions

• Assists with front end duties as necessary.
• Assists in other departments of the warehouse as necessary.

Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery

• Cash register, tabletop/hand-held scanners, carts, flatbeds.

Experience, Skills, Education & Licenses/Certifications
Required:

• Hazard Communication and JHA (initial assignment), Costco Hazardous Materials DOT Training Course: Part 1 (within 30 days and then every year), Hazmat Universal Waste Training- Short Version (within 30 days and then every year), Option

STOP Training (within 30 days), Level 1 Food Safety Certification (within 30 days), Food Handler's Permit (prior to working in a foods area and only where required by state or local jurisdiction).

• Must be current on annual safety training within 30 days of hire.

Recommended:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Customer service or comparable experience.
• General knowledge of AS400.
• Basic math skills.
