Responsibilities
- Skillfully cut, trim, and prepare different cuts of meat using proper knife techniques and meat cutting equipment
- Ensure all meat products are handled safely, stored correctly, and maintained at optimal freshness
- Package meat products efficiently while adhering to food safety and quality standards
- Assist customers with selecting meats, providing knowledgeable recommendations and excellent service
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the work area, including tools, equipment, and storage spaces
- Follow all food handling procedures and safety regulations to prevent contamination or spoilage
- Support inventory management by rotating stock, checking expiration dates, and reporting low supplies
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food production, food preparation or kitchen environments, preferably with meat cutting or culinary background
- Strong knife skills with the ability to cut precisely and safely
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
- Familiarity with packaging techniques suitable for retail or wholesale meat products
- Previous experience in the food industry or restaurant setting is highly desirable
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks efficiently
