The Supervisor I plans, organizes, monitors the receiving, storage and distribution of all items received from vendors and customers to ensure the flow of operations. This position oversees the receiving, storage and distribution of products to satisfy internal and external customer requirements.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

- Maintains staffing structure and levels to accomplish receiving goals in a safe, effective and efficient manner
- Interviews, recommends and selects applicants for receiving warehouse team members
- Plans and coordinates work objectives and goals
- Trains, motivates, supervises, counsels, and evaluates the performance of warehouse team members to develop team leads to oversee the day-to-day work assignments
- Works with the Safety department to ensure material handlers have the ability to safely operate equipment throughout the warehouses.
- Oversees the unloading of products from the receiving docks.
- Ensures products are prepped for counting, inspection, sorting and accurately records material received
- Inventory control to resolves discrepancies regarding packing slips, invoices and other reports
- Monitors the flow from receiving to inventory control for timely data entry.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to fingers, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. This position frequently requires to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel crouch or crawl. Occasionally required to sit, climb and balance. Must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position includes close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent years of experience
- Previous working experience as a warehouse worker
- Familiarity with modern warehousing practices and methods or the ability to learn processes and procedures
Work Environment
This position works in a warehouse setting with various temperatures. Warehouse temperatures vary from freezer, refrigerator, climate control to no climate control warehouses as well as some outdoor exposure. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts, vibrations, two-way forklift flow and loud noise.
