Reporting: Transportation Supervisors and Director.

The following is a basic guideline of the required responsibilities, skills and physical capacities of the Delivery Driver position:

Objective:

It is the objective of this position to maintain the highest standards of quality, accuracy and care in the delivering and handling of all product to our customers.

It is necessary to be a strong team player while interacting with other drivers, peers, superiors and all customers.

Principal job duties:

• The delivery of perishable and non-perishable products from Costa Fruit & Produce, Inc. to our clients and or vendors.
• Daily responsibilities include driving Company vehicles in accordance with all Department of Transportation laws and regulations
• The physical repetitive handling of products weighing in range from 1 to 50 pounds
• Accurate documentation of all deliveries and pick-ups to and from customers
• Documentation of any short orders and or discrepancies with the delivery ticket
• Calculating DOT hours and the maintenance of DOT Log, reporting of any and all accidents and injuries as well as customer service issues directly to Transportation Management.

Skill Requirements: Delivery Driver: Class A, B and D license to operate, knowledge of DOT.

Starting hourly rate: Non-CDL, Class D ($21.20) - CDL, Class A (26.50)

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift, carry up to 50lbs
• Ability to push/pull a two-wheel hand truck
• Ability to climb in and out of truck cab
• Ability to drive company vehicles with both manual and automatic transmissions
• Ability to bend at waist and knees repetitively
• Exposure to all weather and elements including heat, cold, icy, and wet conditions

All candidates considered for employment will:

• Have proof of a valid driver's license to operate, and acceptable driving record provided by the Registry of Motor Vehicles.
• Agree to and authorize a background check, prior employment verification and provide employment references.
• Undergo a pre-employment physical examination in compliance with the Department of Transportation and urine collection/ drug screen.
