Oil Change Technician

Overview: The Oil Change Technician changes the oil and filter on customers’ vehicles. These duties include but are not limited to changing/adding oil and oil filters, checking tire pressure, performing minor automotive repair tasks, cleaning customers vehicles, coordinating with the Location Manager, and completing associated paperwork. Keeps Costa 10 Minute Oil Change facilities & grounds properly cleaned and maintained. To perform essential tasks listed below, the worker will climb up and down steps up to 50 times per day, servicing up to 30 vehicles per shift.

Essential Functions:

• Works as a team member with other location personnel
• Communicates in a clear friendly manner with customers and other employees.
• Explains service and product options to customers.
• Drains, Fills/Adds oil.
• Removes and replaces oil filters.
• Looks up required oil type and filter model using various computer systems.
• Completes transactions using the company provided Point of Sale system (POS)
• Completes reports/paperwork required by the Location Manager.
• Performs a variety of tasks to clean the engine bay of customers vehicles.
• Check other serviceable fluids including coolant, windshield washer fluid, etc.
• Performs visual inspection of vehicles to note obvious issues/defects. May also note damage to r exterior or defective equipment.
• Performs a variety of tasks to maintain the cleanliness of the interior of Costa 10 Minute Oil Change facilities, including, but not limited to, floors, restrooms, windows, furniture/equipment.
• Performs a variety of duties to maintain the interior and exterior of grounds, including, but not limited to, snow removal, landscaping, and painting.
• Report needed equipment repair or building security to the Location Manager.
• Follows safety policies, procedures, and guidelines. Maintains a safe, clean, and orderly work area.
• Responsible for the proper labeling of all containers and chemical products used.
• Prompt, regular, reliable attendance is required.
• Performs other duties as required.

Required Minimum Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent
• General automotive knowledge
• Use of PPE to work safely around power tools, cleaning fluids, paints.
• Methods, materials, and tools related to the cleaning and servicing (oil, coolant, and windshield wash fluid checks) of vehicles.

Special Requirements

• Possess the ability to see (which may be corrected) and read small print.
• Possess the ability to hear (which may be corrected) on the phone, in person and on all communication equipment.
• Require mobility to walk, stand, stoop, reach and bend.
• Requires regular and sustained performance of physically demanding work, typically involving some combination of climbing, balancing, prolonged standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials which may approximate 60 pounds and may occasionally weigh up to 100 pounds.
• Possess the ability to be discreet with confidential information.
• Subject to inside and outside environmental conditions.

Hours

· Stores are open 9:00am to 6:00pm

· Shifts can vary but are typically 9 hours long.
