This role requires deep expertise in GCP Edge architecture, implementation, and integration, with supporting experience in Kubernetes, Terraform, and cloud-native automation. The successful candidate will serve as a strategic advisor and hands-on engineer, ensuring secure, scalable, and resilient Edge deployments across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and implement Google Distributed Cloud Edge solutions aligned to enterprise needs.
- Define best practices for Edge workloads, connectivity, and distributed architecture.
- Deploy, scale, and manage Kubernetes (GKE/Anthos) clusters within Edge environments.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform (advanced modules, remote state, workspaces).
- Implement secure authentication/authorization models (Cloud IAM, RBAC, Workload Identity Federation).
- Collaborate with client teams to design resilient solutions that meet performance, scalability, and compliance requirements.
- Provide hands-on leadership in cloud-native architecture, CI/CD pipelines, and platform observability.
Required Skills & Experience
- 10 years in IT infrastructure architecture, cloud engineering, or DevOps.
- Deep, hands-on expertise with Google Distributed Cloud Edge (GDCE).
- Advanced knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services and architectural patterns.
- Strong Kubernetes/GKE administration experience within distributed environments.
- Proven ability to automate with Terraform at scale.
- Proficiency with Python scripting for infrastructure automation.
- Strong background in cloud security, including encryption, VPC design, and service account management.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Anthos on-prem and hybrid deployments.
- Familiarity with service mesh technologies (e.g., Istio).
- Expertise in monitoring/observability with Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.
- Strong client-facing skills, with ability to lead technical discussions and mentor junior engineers.
