Role Overview:

We are seeking a Production Manager – Optics to oversee the manufacturing process for optical components at Cosmo Optics. This critical position will be responsible for ensuring production runs smoothly in a mixed production environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in optical fabrication and machining, with the ability to manage a team and optimize production workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the daily operations of a team of 5–6 people in the production of optical components, including grinding, polishing, coatings, and other precision manufacturing processes.
• Operate and oversee the use of optical fabrication machinery, including ACP-type machines and CNC/machining equipment.
• Ensure adherence to production schedules and quality standards, troubleshooting any issues that arise during the production process.
• Work closely with other departments to maintain efficient workflows and meet customer timelines.
• Promote a collaborative, hands-on environment with minimal micromanagement.

Must-Have Qualifications:

• U.S. citizen
• 8–15 years of experience in optics or a similar manufacturing field.
• Hands-on experience with optical fabrication machinery and CNC/machining.
• Ability to operate ACP-type machine.
• Solid track record in optical fabrication or CNC/machining.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

• CNC experience.
• Background in metal machining or semiconductor manufacturing.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Base Salary: $120K–$140K
• Benefits: Health, dental, 401(k), 7–8 paid holidays, generous PTO.

Work Environment:

his is an onsite role in a mixed production environment, not restricted to a cleanroom-only setting. Cosmo Optics offers a collaborative, family-oriented company culture with no micromanagement, providing a variety of tasks on a daily basis.
