Position Summary
The GIS Analyst 1 is responsible for spatial analysis, map production, and data processing utilizing CoServ’s ArcGIS Enterprise Platform. This position is responsible for producing reliable map/data analysis, data development, data quality and maintaining the GIS mapping standards for Coserv. In addition, this position provides end user support along with support of various GIS programs/ systems. This position will work closely with the GIS team to deliver excellent spatial solutions to the organization.
Primary Position Responsibilities
- Analyze production data using GIS technology and produce maps to support CoServ’s business users.
- Create standardized mapping procedures for business departments.
- Complete spatial or data analysis and reporting for business needs and requests.
- Evaluate existing data, test and troubleshoot errors and define related QA/QC workflow processes.
- Document work performed using enterprise ticketing system.
- Train users on basic GIS software and technology.
- Create documentation on data quality, and GIS workflows or applications for map/data production.
- Complies with established CoServ safety and operating rules, procedures and guidelines including reporting unsafe practices to a supervisor.
- Complies with established CoServ Information Security Handbook, policies, procedures, and guidelines including reporting suspected information security incidents to Tech Support.
Secondary Position Responsibilities
- Assist with development, testing, documentation, implementation, and support of ArcGIS Enterprise Platform architecture, software, or workflows.
- Assist in GIS related projects within the organization.
- Maintain effective working relationships with the departments and individuals supported.
- Participates in a rotating 24/7 after-hours on-call duty.
- Performs other duties and activities as directed.
Position Requirements
Education, Experience, and Certifications Required
- High School Diploma or G.E.D equivalency.
- BS or BA in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, Information Technology/Systems or related degree.
- Verifiable history of progressive GIS experience and responsibility may be substituted for degree.
- 2 years of experience with ESRI software.
- 2 years of experience editing GIS data using ArcMap
- 1 year of progressive GIS experience, demonstrating the ability to use critical thinking within the ArcGIS software.
Education, Experience, and Certifications Preferred
- 1 year of experience utilizing ESRI ArcGIS analytical software extensions.
- 1 year of experience with ArcGIS Enterprise ArcSDE Geodatabases
- 1 year experience using Visual Basic, Python Scripting, Model Builder or other language for complex spatial querries.
- Experience using map applications with ESRI’s ArcGIS Pro, ArcServer, ArcGIS Portal, DataStore and/or ArcGIS Online.
- Experience with Schneider Electric ArcFM software for utilities.
- Experience with Electric or Gas GIS data and/or network concepts.
- Technical writing/user documentation preparation experience.
