COSCO Shipping (North America) is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Risk Management & Compliance specialist to join our team in the Secaucus, NJ office. In this role, you will play a critical part in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks across the organization's operations while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Risk Identification: Proactively identifying potential risks across different areas of the Company’s operation through data analysis, stakeholder feedback, and external information scanning.
- Risk Assessment: Analyzing the likelihood and potential impact of identified risks to prioritize them for mitigation.
- Risk Mitigation Planning: Developing strategies to address identified risks, including preventive measures, contingency plans, and risk transfer mechanisms.
- Risk Monitoring: Continuously tracking and reviewing risks (including external information scanning) to identify changes in risk profiles and ensure mitigation strategies are effective.
- Risk Reporting: Prepare various risk related management related report for senior management review.
- Communicating risk information to relevant stakeholders, including senior management, various department managers, management of our subsidiary companies and colleagues and through clear and concise reports.
- Compliance Management: Ensuring adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to risk management.
- Assist Department manager in conducting compliance review and various audits.
- Risk Register Maintenance: Maintaining a comprehensive record of identified risks, their associated mitigation plans, and responsible parties.
Additional Qualifications or requirements:
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree
- Legal Education Preferred
- Prior risk management and compliance working experience a plus
- Prior law firm working experience a plus
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Fluent in Mandarin Chinese a must (both reading and writing)
