We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Emergency Department Scribe to support our providers by accurately documenting patient encounters and assisting with workflow efficiency in the Emergency Department.
This is a great opportunity for individuals interested in healthcare, medicine, or gaining hands-on clinical experience in a dynamic hospital setting.
What You’ll Do
- Accompany physicians and providers during patient evaluations
- Accurately document patient histories, physical exams, procedures, diagnoses, and treatment plans in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Enter laboratory, radiology, and other diagnostic orders as directed by the provider
- Track patient results and communicate updates to the provider
- Assist with maintaining efficient patient flow throughout the Emergency Department
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of medical documentation
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA guidelines
- Work collaboratively with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare team members
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous medical scribe, medical assistant, EMT, CNA, or healthcare experience preferred
- Strong typing and computer skills
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic medical terminology knowledge preferred
- Ability to remain calm and professional during emergency situations
- Flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, and holidays as needed
