The Hospital Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, safe, and welcoming healthcare environment for patients, visitors, physicians, and staff. This position plays a critical role in infection prevention and control by performing routine and specialized cleaning and disinfection of patient rooms, treatment areas, surgical and procedural areas, offices, waiting rooms, and public spaces throughout the facility.
The Hospital Housekeeper follows established environmental services procedures, infection control standards, safety guidelines, and regulatory requirements to ensure a healthy environment that supports quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and disinfect patient rooms, bathrooms, hallways, and common areas
- Follow infection control and safety guidelines
- Dispose of waste, including biohazard materials, according to regulations
- Replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, and linens
- Operate cleaning equipment (buffers, vacuums, etc.)
- Respond promptly to cleaning requests and spills
