Responsibilities
- Safely operate box trucks or Step vans, to deliver packages along designated routes
- Load and unload shipments using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks or hand trucks
- Ensure accurate delivery by verifying recipient information and obtaining signatures when required
- Follow all DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, traffic laws, and safety protocols during route driving
- Provide excellent customer service by interacting professionally with recipients and addressing their questions or concerns
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness, perform routine inspections, and report any mechanical issues promptly
- Use mobile devices to track deliveries, update delivery statuses, and communicate with dispatch as needed
Requirements
- Prior experience in delivery driving, warehouse operations, or courier services is highly desirable
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience with commercial truck driving or van driving preferred
- Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles and manual handling equipment such as pallet jacks
- Proven ability to lift heavy packages safely while following proper lifting practices
- Knowledge of traffic regulations, weight handling in the workplace, and safe lifting practices
- Excellent customer service skills with a professional attitude
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, lift, and move packages throughout the shift
- Ability to work independently while managing time effectively during route driving
