Maintenance Assistant / Facilities Maintenance / Handyman

PURPOSE

To assist the Maintenance Manager in maintaining the appearance of all locations associated with Corvilla, to the excellent appearance which Corvilla has established. To assist the Maintenance Manager in maintaining the health and safety standards required by the State Board of Health, Fire Marshal and Corvilla Board of Trustees. To be a team oriented person who will help to maintain the philosophy and mission of Corvilla.

ASSIST THE MAINTENANCE MANAGER IN SPECIFIC AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES

• Flexible schedule for snow removal, salt sidewalks
• On Call for maintenance issues in the home and alarm at the office
• Check outside lights at all sights once/ month, change as necessary.
• Trouble shoot for plumbing, heating and a/c and appliances, maintain warranties
• Work with outside contractors
• Keep track of vehicle maintenance needs
• Take vehicles in as needed for repair
• All other items as deemed necessary by Maintenance Manager
• Ability to be a self starter and work without supervision
• Ability to organize work responsibilities and use time efficiently
• Work with Facilities and Grounds Committee of the Board of Trustees
• Complete seasonal activities like fertilizing, mowing, shrub trimming and weeding, clean eves troughs and leaf pick up, snow removal and painting
• Fill supply orders @ office
• Lift 50#, move/pick-up appliances/furniture
• Assist with restocking, supply deliveries, and assist with other projects as assigned

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

All positions at Corvilla, Inc. require that employees are free from felonies committed against persons who are dependent. This position requires a minimum of high school diploma, a valid driver’s license, and employee must be insurable by our insurance carrier. The maintenance person must possess quality repair skills, good verbal communication skills and the ability to work without supervision. This position requires employees to be even tempered, and possess high energy.
