Responsibilities
- Develop autopilot logic for trajectory and performance optimization
- Develop, test, and maintain high fidelity physics-based simulation models in MATLAB/Simulink
- Development and execution of CFD solutions and application of the results to systems of interest
- Day-to-day informal and formal report generation
- Support proposal development on an as-needed basis
Requirements
- Able to demonstrate a firm background in guidance, navigation, and control (GNC) as well as familiarity with computational fluid dynamics (CFD)
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Masters Preferred)
- Previous internship/co-op experience, leadership & teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities (professional/community/extracurricular)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S security clearance
- U.S Citizenship
Preferred Technical Qualifications:
- Experience with autopilot design and tuning
- Familiarity with aircraft and missile guidance algorithms
- Knowledge of static and dynamic stability and flight dynamics modeling
- Strong background in fluid dynamics with experience in all Mach regimes (low-subsonic to hypersonic)
- Understanding of Linux based operating systems
- Familiarity with high performance computing environments
- Familiarity with Fortran and/or C/C
- Familiarity with scripting languages (bash, Python)
- Knowledge of CAD modeling, grid generation (ex: Pointwise), and applied CFD methods are considered a plus
