We are currently seeking a Staff Accountant I- The Staff Accountant I is responsible for supporting the company’s accounting functions, ensuring that financial records are accurate, timely, and compliant with company policies and regulations. Reporting to the Controller, this position assists with general ledger activity, account reconciliations and posting of bank transactions.

The ideal candidate has a foundational understanding of accounting principles and exposure to construction or project-based accounting, and experience with ERP systems such as ViewPoint Vista. The core areas of responsibility are listed below; however other duties and responsibilities may be required to meet business needs and objectives.

Requirements

Job Responsibilities (List is not inclusive)

• Maintain General ledger, post journal entries, and reconcile accounts
• Track and reconcile intercompany transactions
• Assist with month-end close and financial reporting
• Perform bank reconciliations and support cash postings
• Assist in preparing required documentation for external auditors as needed
• Contribute to process improvements, and system updates to enhance efficiency and accuracy
• Assist with ad hoc reporting and special projects
• Serve as backup to other accounting roles as needed
  
  

Required Skills and Abilities:

• Understanding of accounting principles and general ledger functions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, data analysis)
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally (employees, vendors, and other stakeholders)
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  
  

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree, working towards a bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or other related field.
• 2 years’ experience in accounting or related field
  
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Exposure to construction or project-based accounting
• Experience with ViewPoint Vista or another ERP system
