Summary
The Estimator will work with senior-level estimators and project managers to analyze bid documents and conditions to prepare accurate job costs for projects; verify costs with suppliers, labor, and subcontractors; and coordinate turnover efforts with the project manager.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost and labor estimates for projects, applying knowledge of specialized methodologies, techniques, and processes.
- Review data to determine material and labor requirements and prepare itemized lists.
- Compute cost factors and prepare estimates used for management purposes, such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work, preparing bids, selecting vendors or subcontractors, and determining cost effectiveness.
- Consult with vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
- Attend pre-bid meetings and walk-throughs.
- Schedule, o btain, and evaluate incoming quotes from subcontractors, material and equipment suppliers, and vendor proposals.
- Coordinate with projects managers and other relevant company staff, participate in turnover meetings on successful bids, and meet bid delivery dates.
- Other duties as assigned.
