- Book appointments for new and returning patients utilizing the appropriate scheduling templates.
- Build a solid relationship with patients, family members, and co-workers to ensure the targeted outcome is achieved.
- Always demonstrate interests in patients, engage them in conversation, and do anything necessary to ensure that patients, parents, and families have a positive and unique experience.
- Assist the Treatment Coordinator /clinic assistants in taking records. (pan,ceph, photos).
- Assist the Treatment Coordinator/clinic assistants in updating any photos or x rays for patients.
- Help the clinic assistants upload their photos.
- Enter relevant patient information into the computer and file all incoming correspondence and x-rays once they have been scanned.
- Manage active patient files and archive files for patients who are no longer in treatment.
- Pour impressions up for retainers, models, and appliances.
- Assist with making retainers.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene motivating them to follow care protocols.
- Sterilize instruments and disinfect treatment areas and equipment.
- Assist with cleaning and organizing tasks in the clinic and around the office to maintain a presentable and safe work environment.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the Doctor and Practice Manager.
- Dental or Ortho office experience considered an asset.
- Previous experience working in professional sales considered an asset.
- Good with computers, proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn new software quickly.
- Knowledge and experience with dental treatment plans and insurance requirements preferred.
- Certified Dental Assistant an asset.
- Knowledge and understanding of oral treatment plans and ability to educate patients.
