Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Target and Threat Modeling & Simulation Subject Matter Expert to provide technical leadership for target and threat modeling efforts. This senior-level position serves as the primary authority on threat representation, signature modeling, and the development, verification, validation, and accreditation (VV&A) of high-fidelity models used in missile defense, hypersonics, and countermeasure programs.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Aerospace, or related technical discipline (Master’s or Ph.D. strongly preferred).
- 10 years of direct experience in target and threat modeling & simulation for missile defense, hypersonic, or countermeasure systems.
- Demonstrated expertise in threat signature modeling (RF, IR, EO, UV, radar cross-section (RCS), material properties, plume signatures, etc.).
- In-depth knowledge of the Systems Engineering process, Modeling & Simulation best practices, and VV&A standards (e.g., DoD VV&A RPG, MDA VV&A policies).
- Proven ability to develop and execute signature collection plans and analyze high-volume test data.
- Experience developing budget estimates, cost models, and contracting artifacts for M&S efforts.
- Active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance (must be current within the last 5 years).
Preferred Qualifications: (Optional)
- Prior experience supporting PEO Missiles and Space, MDA, or SHIELD/IBCS/IFPC programs.
- Familiarity with tools such as OSC/FLAMES, AFSIM, ESAMS, MATLAB/Simulink, CAMEO, or government-validated signature codes (SPIRITS, MOSAIC, etc.).
- Experience with Digital System Models (DSMs), Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), and Authoritative Sources of Truth (ASOT).
- Strong briefing and communication skills
