Duties
- Safely operate bobtails and other specialized vehicles to transport hazardous materials.
- Load and unload fuels safely and effectively.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure proper functioning and compliance with safety standards.
- Follow designated routes and schedules diligently, adjusting as needed to meet delivery deadlines.
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, delivery logs, and safety compliance records.
- Ensure proper handling and securement of hazardous materials during transit to prevent leaks or accidents.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and emergency responders if necessary during incidents or delays.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements for hazardous materials (Hazmat) and tanker operations.
- Proven experience in truck driving, especially with Hazmat loads or freight transportation.
- Skilled in operating manual transmission trucks and various trailer types such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, or roll-off trucks.
- Familiarity with load & unload procedures using forklifts or manual methods.
- Knowledge of safety regulations related to hazardous materials transportation and route driving best practices.
- Ability to perform detailed vehicle inspections and maintain accurate logs consistently.
