We have an exciting position for a Corteva Agriscience Marketing Programs Accrual Analyst. This Finance position will support the Controllership Marketing Programs Administration team, providing analysis, technology, project management and process improvement support. The Marketing Programs Administration team is a critical Finance partner to the business and its relationship to its customers, paying over $1B in program and rebate payments to them each year across a variety of programs. The accrual analyst will work closely with Commercial Finance, Marketing, and other Controllership organizations. The group supports US and Canada Crop Protection and Seed businesses.

The Marketing Programs Accrual Analyst will provide business reporting, analysis, technology, project management, process improvement and accounting support to the team.

Primary Responsibilities - How will you help us Grow!

  • Prepare essential reports including Balance Sheet reconciliation, Income Statement reconciliation to ensure balance sheet accounts are properly reconciled and issues are resolved on a timely basis and make sure all accounting procedures are in compliance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Analyze and aggregate accrual rates associated with the product in each marketing program participated in and upload accrual rates to Vistex system.
  • Perform analytical review of various sections of the financial reports and provide Balance Sheet flux explanations for trends and significant variances.
  • Maintain clean and accurate balance sheets for all entities for programs and claims and ensure Account Reconciliations and Journal Entries are prepared, reviewed, and approved according to accounting policy.
  • Work extensively with our Marketing group to administer rebate program payments on a routine basis. This includes calculating and auditing rebate payments, preparing supporting summary schedules and bank payments.
  • Work with Marketing Programs Administration Manager to define and facilitate key technology and improvement projects supporting the team and its business partners; ensure all projects follow sound project management principles.
  • Act as technology subject matter expert to the team on tools, including Microsoft Access, Excel and SharePoint and reporting tools such as SAP and BPC.
  • Continuously seek challenges to improve professional skills and knowledge.
  • High level of communication and action oriented follow up

Experience and Education – What you'll bring to the table!

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or other relevant Business discipline is strongly preferred; technical coursework and a demonstrated technical aptitude.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, process improvement and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong technology skills using: Excel, SharePoint, SAP, and BPC.
  • Access experience a plus.
  • Quick learner and adapter.
  • Highly efficient, organized and ability for multiple tasking.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Strategic thinking, however, must work in the details.
  • The work schedule is normal business hours. Working extended business hours required during peak times such as high-volume periods for the team and to meet month-end and other deadlines, typically in the September – December timeframe.
