What are the responsibilities and job description for the Junior Supply Chain Planner position at Corston Architectural Detail?
The company
At Corston Architectural Detail, everything we do is about taking the stress out of renovations. Our collections of switches and sockets, hardware and lighting are designed to coordinate effortlessly. We precisely design and engineer every detail, and take obsessive care to make sure Corston products feel great. And we make sure that every point in our customers’ journey with us is a positive one.
Founded by a small team of creative designers and engineers, we’ve grown quickly in our first four years. We’ve got ambitious plans to expand, and are looking for enthusiastic, engaging people to help us build our brand in America from the ground up.
Supply Chain Department
The supply chain looks after around £3m of stock for the business and helps maintain an ambitious 50% growth rate. Working with suppliers we get the right stock into the business at the right time. We then apply cutting edge technology to develop systems to accurately monitor and move stock. This is a big challenge and needs enquiring minds to discover problems and then apply methods and create processes to manage them. Corston is an international business which is expanding into new countries constantly, and so the challenge of staying in stock and serving customers fast is getting bigger.
The Role
We are looking for someone mathematically minded, with fantastic organisational and administrative skills. A knowledge of Microsoft Excel would be an advantage. The role holder will have a keen eye for detail and not be phased by chasing suppliers and speaking to anyone in the company.
Corston will provide full training for this role. We are looking for someone who is very conscientious and a strong communicator, with the technical skills to back up their enthusiasm. We will teach you valuable skills to do with international buying, import, export, forecasting, WMS, and ERP systems. The role would suit someone with a strong business/maths/science/design degree that is looking for a challenge.
