Duties
- Conduct inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractors using schematics and technical manuals.
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance including oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, and suspension adjustments for trucks, farm machinery, and industrial equipment.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems, hydraulics, transmissions, air brakes, HVAC systems, and other mechanical components to identify issues accurately.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and soldering techniques to assemble parts or repair damaged components.
- Maintain detailed service records, complete repair reports, and document work performed for compliance and future reference.
- Assist with equipment fabrication and welding projects to modify or enhance machinery performance.
- Support heavy lifting operations safely using appropriate lifting gear such as cranes or forklifts while adhering to safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a mechanic with dealership experience preferred; familiarity with automotive diagnostics and vehicle systems is highly valued.
- Strong mechanical knowledge across various systems including transmissions, hydraulics, suspension, electrical systems, and diesel engines.
- Hands-on experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers, or industrial machinery.
- Ability to read schematics and technical manuals accurately for troubleshooting complex mechanical issues.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance tools required for repair tasks.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail; ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
