Job Summary:
Corry Rubber Corporation is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Bladder Builder to join our team for the second shift. We specialize in producing high-quality expansion tank bladders for potable water and heating applications, including both ASME and non-ASME expansion tanks. This role emphasizes hands-on craftsmanship, focusing on cutting, building, curing, and testing bladders made from elastomer/rubber. The successful candidate will have experience in reading blueprints, as well as a commitment to producing products that meet rigorous standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cutting Materials: Use precision tools to cut calendared sheets of elastomer materials to exact specifications as detailed in blueprints. Opportunity to utilize a new Eastman automated cutting machine.
- Building Bladders: Assemble components, including adhering sheets together and cementing flanges in place according to blueprint instructions to ensure seams are stronger than the base material itself.
- Curing Process: Manage the autoclave curing process of the bladders, ensuring they meet the required standards of durability and performance.
- Quality Testing: Inflate bladders with air and conduct rigorous leak testing. Ensure each product is cleaned, boxed, and includes certification detailing test results, seam bonding quality, and QA tracking.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma.
- Ninth-grade level in mathematics and reading comprehension.
- Read and interpret blueprints accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and precision.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
