Corry Counseling of LECOM Health is looking for Full-time and Part-time Direct Support Professionals (DSP) for a new residential home in Erie, PA. This home will provide 24-hour care and support for a single individual with intellectual and developmental disabilities and high-structured needs.

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will play a vital role in supporting this individual by promoting independence, minimizing challenging behaviors, and fostering community involvement. Your responsibilities will include assisting with daily living activities, implementing support plans, and helping the individual achieve personal goals that reflect their dreams and aspirations.

DSPs should be prepared to work in an environment that may include unpredictable behaviors, verbal and physical aggression, and self-injurious actions. This role involves mental and physical demands such as stress management, muscle strain, and exposure to loud environments. Work settings may vary, including both the home and community settings.

Schedule:

· Full time/ Part-time (20-30 hours/week)

· Full and part-time 2nd shift.

· Weekend; Substitute/Relief Staff

Responsibilities:

· Supports individual in all aspects of daily living, providing only the necessary assistance to promote maximum independence and self-sufficiency

· Carries out directives of supervisor with regards to home management, Adult Daily Living Skills, Self-Help Skills and Community involvement.

· Collaborates with colleagues, supervisors, and healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans while building valuable skills in a supportive environment.

· Carries out Individualized Support Plans (ISP) to ensure personalized care and goal achievement.

· Follows all agency policies, procedures and protocols regarding safety in all environments that is healthy, safe, peaceful and comfortable always.

· Accurately completes daily documentation in compliance with all regulations and guidelines.

· Adheres to PA State Regulations as established in 6400 regs.

· Attends team meetings as required.

· Completes all training in a timely manner.

Compensation: Base pay for full-time positions starts at $22/hour; Base pay for part-time starts at $20/hour.

Requirements:

· A high school diploma or GED

Additional Requirements:

· Must have a valid driver’s license, current insurance coverage and consistent access to a

reliable vehicle.

· Act 33 (PA Child Abuse) must be received prior to hire.

· Act 34 Clearance (PA State Police Record Check) OR the Department of Human Services FBI

Fingerprinting must also be received prior to hire along with the Act 33 clearance.

· Mandated Reporter and Safety Care Training within 30 days of hire.

· Able to lift/or carry up to 50 pounds

· Strong written and verbal communication skills
