Lincoln County Detention Center--Carrizozo, NM, under the management of Correctional Solutions Group, LLC., is seeking a full-time corrections officer. Selected candidates will be responsible for supervising and controlling inmate activity within the correctional facility. $1000 Sign on Bonus / $500 Referral Bonus after completion of 6 Month probationary period.
Responsibilities include:
- Supervises inmates in living areas and recreational activities. Supervises inmates and visitors in visitation areas.
- Serves as control center officer, coordinates and monitors inmate movements, conduct counts, and provides emergency response.
- Serves as mail room, field tower, medical security, perimeter security, and/or gate officer as required.
- Provides security in treatment activities and supervises labor crews in the kitchen and other specialized areas.
- Ensures prompt and appropriate assistance to inmates in the event of injury, illness, and emotional trauma.
- Prepares reports and maintains daily logs as required.
- Initiates disciplinary reports.
- Conduct shakedown for contraband materials, either individually or as part of a specialized team.
- Promotes facility cleanliness and reports need for maintenance and/or repairs.
- Serves as a member of special teams to respond.
- Performs a variety of marginal duties not listed, to be determined and assigned as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must be US Citizen with a valid NM Driver's License
- Must be emotionally stable, understanding, and philosophically attuned to the objectives of the facility.
- Must be able to PASS a Drug Test, a Background Check
- Documents necessary for position: Birth Certificate, DD214 (if prior military), NM Driver's License, Evidence of HS/GED education
