Job Title: Mental Health Clinician

Location: Plymouth County Jail

Job Type: Full Time

Schedule: This position follows a schedule of three day shifts per week, one to two evening shifts per week, and rotating weekends.

Job Description Summary

CPS Healthcare is looking to hire a full-time mental health clinician to join our team in providing diagnostic assessments and crisis intervention to an inmate population at our Plymouth County Jail location, Plymouth, MA.

Correctional health is a highly specialized field that provides the opportunity to work in an energetic, multidisciplinary setting where we serve patients with many different needs and mental health conditions.

Working alongside a multidisciplinary team helps correctional mental health clinicians gain broad and in-depth knowledge on mental illness, substance use disorders and crisis intervention. A correctional setting enables clinicians to perfect their diagnostic skills and implement a wide range of evidence-based interventions.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides diagnostic assessment, crisis intervention and psychotherapeutic services to an inmate population.
  • Responsible for completing progress notes and ensuring that documentation meets quality standards.
  • Interrelates and works effectively with other mental health services staff, medical

personnel, CPS administration, inmates, and outside support agencies.

  • Maintains a safe environment for staff, patients, and visitors in accordance with

established policies and procedures.

  • Participates fully in all site-based performance improvement activities in accordance with job responsibilities.
  • Promotes effective working relations as part of a department/unit team to facilitate the department/units to meet its goals and objectives.
  • Follow all security rules and regulations.

Minimum Requirements:

Education: Master's degree in social work, counseling, or related field.

  • Eligible licenses: LCSW, LICSW, or LMHC.
  • Experience: Previous related experience preferred (correctional mental health, crisis intervention, treatment of major mental disorders, substance use treatment).
  • Other: Must be able to pass a facility background clearance

Type of Position: Full Time.

Schedule: This position follows a schedule of three day shifts per week, one to two evening shifts per week, and rotating weekends.

Salary range:
