Registered Nurse - Weekend Contract

Correctional Medical Management is passionate about positively changing healthcare for the good of our clients. We are seeking Registered Nurses to work the Day shift weekend contract at the Minnehaha County Jail. In this role you will provide patient education, preventative care and clinical care to incarcerated patients. You will work in a supportive and safe environment in collaboration with correctional officers to provide quality healthcare to an underserved population. This position will be rewarding and allow you to diversify your nursing career! The weekend contract includes a $10,000 bonus!

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to incarcerated patients
• Perform assessments and provide healthcare education
• Emergency response
• Prepare and maintain records, charts and reports
• Manage acute and chronic health conditions
• Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans accordingly
• Ensure all nursing protocols are followed
• Evaluate client behaviors, symptoms, and effects or medications/treatments
• Obtain diagnostic tests
• Assist with medical or minor surgical procedures
• Establish and maintain effective and professional relationships with patients, staff and the public

Requirements

• Must be currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in South Dakota
