Role and Responsibilities:

The warehouseman / delivery driver role is a full-time role (e.g., 40 hours or more per week) is responsible for pulling orders for delivery 2 days each week (workweek is Monday - Thursday and partial day on Friday) and transporting supplies and orders from the CFS warehouse to the company’s local customers in and around the Lafayette, Louisiana area as well as assisting the Director of Warehouse Operations in maintaining, supplying, and organizing the warehouse located in New Iberia. There may be some long-haul (4.5 hour per trip) driving required as needed.

Essential Functions :

Pulling orders, and ability to pull correct orders and to clearly communicate with the Director of Warehouse Operations. Timely and successful transport of supplies and orders to CFS customers in provided company 24 foot truck in the Lafayette, Louisiana area. Particular attention to safety, staying on schedule and customer service. Some long haul trips may be required (e.g., 4.5 hours each each way).

· Make CFS deliveries two - three times a week throughout the state of Louisiana;

· Assists warehouseman in CFS warehouse at least 2 days a week ;

· Performs warehouse maintenance as needed; and

· Performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervision responsibilities.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly drives and operates a CFS delivery vehicle (24-26 foot box truck) and works with other CFS staff, suppliers and customers. The employee travels relatively (e.g., 3-4 days per week) and works near vehicles, delivery vehicles, some heavy equipment and perishable and non-perishable food items that may require specific attention. Delivery driver will be responsible for off-boarding delivery items to customer locations, and assisting on-site personnel with the break-down of such delivery items in the applicable customer storeroom, in addition to taking in and breaking down deliveries from suppliers to the New Iberia warehouse. Job also entails pulling commissary orders for the short haul driving route and the long haul driving route. Updating and rotating product and bringing in new product into the warehouse is also a component of the job. Being able to drive a forklift and pallet jack are prerequisites for the job.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Hourly compensation. Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 5:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and a partial day on Friday, though actual schedule deviations may be required.

Required Education and Experience:

• Graduation from high school or GED equivalent.
• Customer Service/Delivery experience

Preferred Accreditation and Location:

Valid U.S. driver’s license. Clean driving record – please provide a copy.

Class D Chauffeurs License Required

DOT Certification - Required

Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
