Job Summary and Qualifications

The Site Coordinator is responsible for the overall lab operations at the designated site. The Site Coordinator is responsible for evaluating and improving services through implementation of new policies, procedures and equipment. The Site Coordinator shares the responsibilities with the Laboratory Director for operating the department within the established budget guidelines, ensuring proper coverage of the department, maintaining all Federal, JCAHO, CAP and Corporate Compliance guidelines, and acting as a liaison with all other departments, Medical staff, and Administration. In addition, the Site Coordinator is responsible for providing patient testing and associated clerical work on neonate, infant, child, adolescent, adult and geriatric inpatients as well as outpatients. Other responsibilities include: insuring adequate supplies are available, proper training of new personnel/students, organizing employees in their charge, and evaluating assigned employees. The Site coordinator schedules employees in department/shift according to proper test authorizations, insures testing is done in a timely manner, insures accrediting agencies guidelines are followed, enforces safety and infection control policies, coordinates QA and Process Improvement activities in the department/shift, and provides meaningful input into budget preparation.

Northshore Emergency Center is a full-service 24-7 emergency department in Portland that offers outpatient laboratory, imaging and occupational services. Radiation Oncology offers advanced technology for treating cancer with the latest and most specific radiation therapies available.
