Role Description
This full-time, on-site Special Education Teacher role is based in Corpus Christi, TX. The teacher will develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) for students with diverse needs, adapt teaching strategies to meet various learning styles, and collaborate with other educators, families, and specialists to provide a supportive learning environment. Additional responsibilities include progress monitoring, supporting students in reaching academic and developmental goals, and maintaining compliance with educational laws and standards. The teacher will be expected to foster an inclusive classroom to empower students for success.
Qualifications
- Strong instructional and classroom management skills, including the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet a range of student needs
- Knowledge of developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and understanding of special education laws and regulations
- Proficiency in collaboration, communication, and building positive relationships with families, students, and other professionals
- Skills in monitoring and assessing student progress and making required adjustments to teaching approaches
- Detail-oriented and organized with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Valid Special Education teaching certification as required by Texas standards
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
- Experience working with students with diverse needs is highly desirable
