What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sports Program Representative position at Corpus Christi Community Center?
GENERAL FUNCTION:
Under the guidance and supervision of the Sports Program Director, the Sports Program Representative’s responsibility is to ensure the safety of all individuals participating in the Corpus Christi Community Center sports leagues. The Sports Program Representative must also ensure that all participants and parents are following rules and procedures in accordance with league rules and the Code of Conduct.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Experience working with the public and providing quality member service is required. The Sports Program Representative must be able to communicate effectively and demonstrate maturity when handling league-related issues. Must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must be able to perform all physical duties necessary. Must be able to work independently as well as collaborate with other Community Center staff and various community partners. The incumbent must demonstrate a commitment to the mission of the Corpus Christi Community Center. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously are required. Customer Service Requirement: Must be able to provide excellent customer service when interacting with members and non-members, including parents, participants, visitors, and guests during games, practices, and all sporting events. This includes maintaining professionalism, resolving concerns promptly, and representing the Community Center in a positive and respectful manner.
PRINCIPLE AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
1. Communicate effectively the mission and values of the Corpus Christi Community Center. 2. Represent the Community Center and communicate effectively with participants, members, and guests.
3. Ensure that all equipment used for play is in good condition.
4. Notify appropriate staff of any issues concerning cleanliness or safety of gym areas. Clean, mop, and sweep floors before/after games as needed.
5. Enforce and follow Community Center policies.
6. Follow dress code and Code of Conduct.
7. Respond promptly and professionally to participant concerns.
8. Must be able to drive to/from Community Center program locations.
9. Assist in promoting and growing sports programs.
10. Staff are expected to demonstrate teamwork and complete any tasks assigned by the direct supervisor, incorporating the Community Center’s character and service values into daily job performance.
11. Professional conduct is expected at all times.
12. On-site attendance is required.
13. Perform all other duties assigned by Community Center Directors.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position is active and non-office based, requiring work with sports equipment and related tools. Includes extended standing, bending, climbing, stooping, kneeling, and walking. Occasional lifting and carrying of materials weighing 50 to 100 lbs. Valid driver’s license required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:
1. Experience with office equipment (printer, copier, fax).
2. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
3. Ability to work independently.
4. Ability to work with a diverse group of people; bilingual preferred.
5. CPR & First Aid Certification required.
