Job Summary:
The SAIOP Program Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, coordination, and management of Team LLC’s Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Program (SAIOP). This position ensures the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based treatment and recovery support services for adults and adolescents with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders.
The SAIOP Manager provides clinical oversight, supervises program staff, ensures compliance with state licensing and Medicaid standards, and promotes a recovery-oriented, client-centered approach to care.
This position must be filled by a licensed clinician (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, LSATP) or a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC). ASAM experience or certification is strongly preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Program Oversight & Leadership
- Manage the daily operations of the SAIOP program to ensure consistent, effective service delivery.
- Oversee scheduling, group facilitation, and client flow while maintaining fidelity to program structure.
- Ensure all services align with DBHDS, DMAS, and CARF standards.
- Monitor program performance, outcomes, and client satisfaction to support continuous quality improvement.
Staff Supervision & Development
- Provide direct clinical supervision and administrative oversight to SAIOP counselors, case managers, and peer support staff.
- Conduct regular supervision meetings and staff performance evaluations.
- Facilitate professional development and training on ASAM criteria, documentation standards, and best practices.
- Review and approve clinical documentation for compliance and accuracy.
Clinical & Administrative Duties
- Oversee or conduct client assessments, treatment planning, and discharge planning consistent with ASAM criteria.
- Ensure individualized, goal-oriented treatment interventions.
- Coordinate care with external providers, referral sources, and internal departments to promote continuity of care.
- Maintain accurate client documentation, program data, and reporting requirements.
- Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings and case reviews.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all state, Medicaid, and accreditation standards.
- Participate in audits, policy updates, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Implement corrective action plans as needed to address identified compliance gaps.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards of practice.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related human services field required.
- Active Virginia license (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, LSATP) or Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC)required.
- ASAM experience or certification preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience providing substance use or co-occurring disorder treatment.
- Minimum of one (1) year of supervisory or management experience in behavioral health or substance use programs.
- Strong knowledge of DBHDS and DMAS SAIOP regulations.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficient with electronic health records (EHR) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Work Schedule and Compensation:
- Full-time, salaried position (Exempt)
- Typical schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (occasional evenings or weekends as needed)
