The Opportunity:
We are currently seeking a Fiscal Operations Manager based out of our Athens, OH office. This is a senior-level role responsible for overseeing core financial operations, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and employee benefits administration. The Fiscal Operations Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and efficiency of financial processes across multiple funding streams and grant requirements, while supporting the organization’s mission and long-term sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
· Manage and oversee the full cycle of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
· Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on schedule; maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
· Administer employee benefits including health insurance, retirement contributions, and PTO accruals
· Ensure expenses are accurately coded to appropriate grants, programs, and cost centers
· Support preparation of financial reports for federal and state funders
· Assist with grant budget monitoring and collaborate with program staff to ensure fiscal compliance
· Maintain documentation to support audit readiness across all funding sources
· Utilize financial systems such as MIP Fund Accounting, Paylocity, and Ramp for day-to-day operations
· Generate financial reports and dashboards for leadership and board use
Key Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field required
· Minimum of 4–6 years of progressive fiscal management experience, including nonprofit accounting
· Strong knowledge of fund accounting principles and grant compliance requirements
· Experience processing full-cycle payroll and administering employee benefits
· Proficiency with financial systems such as MIP Fund Accounting, Paylocity, Ramp, or similar platforms
· Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
· Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate financial information for non-financial audiences
· Demonstrated ability to work independently while also contributing as a collaborative team member
· Familiarity with shared services models or outsourced fiscal functions is a plus
