Job Title: Waste Audit Laborer

Schedule: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM (On-site)

Location: Commercial Office Building / Loading Dock Area

Employment Type: Temporary / Project-Based (flexible based on need)

Job Summary

We are seeking reliable Waste Laborers to support on-site waste audits at commercial buildings. This role involves sorting waste and removing recyclable materials from trash receptacles across multiple locations (by floor and retail area). Work is conducted in a designated sorting area on the loading dock and organized by building floor to identify waste diversion opportunities and improvement areas.

Key Responsibilities

Sorting

- Separate waste into piles by waste stream and source area.

- Place sorted materials into designated bins by category.

Weighing

- Weigh each waste category using a portable scale.

- Dispose of sorted waste into designated containers.

General Site Support

- Maintain a clean and safe work area (tarps, bins, equipment will be provided).

- Follow safety procedures and supervisor instructions.

- Work efficiently as part of a team.

Waste Categories Handled

Recyclables:

• Mixed paper
• Cardboard (OCC)
• Rigid plastics (#1–#7, excluding #6)
• Mixed metals
• Toner cartridges
• Batteries
• Bulbs
• Electronic waste

Landfill:

• Glass
• Bathroom waste
• Miscellaneous trash

Qualifications

- Ability to lift and move up to 40–50 lbs repeatedly.

- Comfortable working in a loading dock / outdoor environment.

- Ability to follow instructions and safety guidelines.

- Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented.

- Team player with strong work ethic.

- Prior labor, warehouse, or environmental work preferred (not required).

Safety Requirements

- Closed-toe shoes required.

- Gloves and basic PPE provided or required per site rules.

- Must follow all safety and cleanliness protocols.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

License/Certification:
