Position Summary

A Fire Watchman's main function is to observe and report. The officer maintains a safe and secure environment for clients and employees.

Essential Job Responsibilities

· Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry.

· Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities.

· Prevent damage or injury by reporting irregularities; informing violators of policy and procedures; deter trespassers.

· Respond to alarms or calls of distress.

· Use radios and/or cell phones to stay in contact with Security personnel

· Call for Police assistance if necessary

· Perform Escorts within the Airport for non-Port Authority Badged personnel

· Regulate and monitor building systems

· Operate screening machinery including X-ray machines, magnetometers and wands.

· Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including all shifts, weekends and holiday’s

· Must be able to work outside in all types of weather

· Must be able to follow detailed procedures

· Strong surveillance skills

· Must be dependable

· Must project a professional image and maintain CLPA uniform standards

· Strong integrity, ethics and emotional control

Working Conditions

Physical Requirements

· Must be able to report to work on time in all types of weather

· Must be able to work outside for extended periods of time in all types of weather, including rain, snow, extreme cold and extreme heat.

· Able to stand for 8 hours

· Able to climb multiple flights of stairs

Minimum Qualifications

· Education: High school diploma/GED

· 18 years of age

· Have the legal right to work in the United States

· State Photo Identification

· Successful completion of a drug test and pre-employment screening requirements

· Fireguard license

· Previous employment verification

Pay: Up to $19.00 per hour
