The Opportunity: Meeting & Event Manager
The Meeting & Event Manager will play a critical role in planning, producing, and delivering CDL’s client programs. This individual will combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution, ensuring every program meets business goals, delights attendees, and reflects the CDL commitment to excellence.
- Strong preference for someone with Event Agency experience.
- Candidate must have CMP Certification.
- Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience managing corporate meetings, incentive programs, and/or large-scale events. Strong preference for individual with Event Agency experience.
- Proven track record overseeing event budgets of $3M with strong financial accountability and reconciliation skills.
- Exceptional negotiation and vendor management expertise with an established network of industry partners.
- Advanced project management skills with demonstrated success in logistics planning, multi-stakeholder coordination, and on-site event execution.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; polished client-facing presence required.
- Strong leadership abilities with experience mentoring, managing, and motivating teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word), Microsoft Teams, and other event/project management platforms.
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
- Detail-oriented, adaptable, and solutions-driven, with the ability to pivot quickly and manage competing priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior leadership to design event strategies aligned with client and company objectives.
- Budget Oversight: Manage multi-million-dollar event budgets, ensuring fiscal responsibility, accurate forecasting, and full reconciliation of income and expenses.
- Vendor & Partner Management: Source, negotiate, and oversee contracts with venues, hotels, suppliers, and service providers—including AV, décor, food & beverage, transportation, creative services, and entertainment.
- Program Execution: Lead team and overall logistics and on-site delivery of programs, coordinating with internal teams, clients, and vendors to ensure seamless execution.
- Project Management: Drive timelines, task assignments, and deliverables across stakeholders, using strong organizational skills to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
- Team Leadership: Mentor, train, and support planners and coordinators to foster professional growth and collaborative success.
- Post-Event Evaluation: Capture insights, feedback, and metrics to measure ROI and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
- Client Communication: Serve as a trusted point of contact for clients, ensuring transparency, alignment, and satisfaction throughout the event lifecycle.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
